The 2026 AVIMC Music Competition Winter Edition is open to piano, strings, woodwind, brasswind, guitar, and chamber music.

Winners will be offered the opportunity to perform in a recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall with complimentary masterclass opportunities led by adjudicators.

Competition Announcement

The 2026 American Virtuoso International Music Competition (AVIMC) is OPEN to accept entries from vocalists and instrumentalists (piano competition, violin competition, viola competition, cello competition, bass competition, guitar competition, woodwind competition, brasswind competition, chamber music competition) of any nationality who embody a powerful artistic vision and captivating stage presence.

Our goal is to identify exceptional young performers and assist them in launching their international careers.

Winners will have the opportunity to perform recitals at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall!

Additionally, all participants will receive complimentary masterclass opportunities with adjudicators across various categories.

AVIMC is organized by the American Society of Musical Excellence – a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States.

The ASME@WAU Music Festival will take place right before the final round of 2025 AVIMC. Some of the faculty members from the music festival will serve as the adjudicators for the final round.

The 2025 AVIMC music competition winter edition: Through the Eras is open to instrumentalists (piano, strings, woodwinds,  brass, chamber music) of any nationality.

AVIMC values performers with a strong classical music artistic personality vision and stage presence. Our goal is to discover outstanding young artists and support them in launching music careers.

We will send an email to all contestants on the afternoon of June 25, 2025. For the contestants to proceed to the next round, please carefully review the instructions provided in the email sent to you. It contains important details on how to proceed to the next round. We appreciate your attention to this matter.

We are excited to share that the adjudicators’ evaluation comments will be emailed to each contestant by July 5. Stay tuned for valuable feedback on your performance!

American Virtuoso International Competition currently partners with New England Symphonic Ensemble. Selected winners in AVIMC will be promoted to perform as Carnegie Scholars at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall many times yearly.

On January 15, 2026, Carnegie Hall came alive with the 2025 American Virtuoso International Music Competition. Our young artists exceeded expectations, delivering performances that captivated the audience from start to finish. The focused silence in the hall and the enthusiastic applause spoke volumes, both about their artistry and about music’s power to connect and inspire.

A special highlight of the evening was that several performers presented their own original works, and some of these pieces received their world premiere on stage. We are proud to celebrate these rising musicians, not only for their exceptional performance skills but also for their creativity and bold artistic voices. ✨🎶

We are thrilled to announce that 2025 AVIMC Winners Albert Dong, Rozalia Bryla, and Clara Chi have been selected to participate in the prestigious Carnegie Scholars Program by the New England Symphonic Ensemble!

This remarkable achievement reflects their outstanding musicianship, dedication, and artistic growth. The Carnegie Scholars Program offers an extraordinary opportunity for young artists to perform on one of the world’s most iconic stages like Stern Auditorium or Perelman Stage of Carnegie Hall, and to collaborate with distinguished conductors and musicians.

We extend our warmest congratulations to these talented young musicians for their exceptional accomplishment and wish them continued success as they represent our community on the international stage.

We are thrilled to share the success of the 2025 AVIMC onsite Final Round that took place on July 20! Everything was in place, the performers dazzled with their brilliance, and the atmosphere buzzed with electrifying musical talent.

But the excitement doesn’t end there! Following the Final Round, we continued the journey with enlightening and inspiring masterclasses for all contestants. These sessions provided valuable insights and learning opportunities, enriching their musical journeys.

The wait is almost over! On August 31, 2025 we will unveil the highly anticipated results of the final round. Stay tuned as we celebrate the outstanding performances and reveal the winners who have truly captured our hearts.

American Virtuoso International Music Competition has always been committed to uncovering and providing opportunities for music learning and practice. Now, we’re giving the other study opportunity. AVIMC judge, Professor Daniel Geiss, has been profoundly impressed by the performance abilities and potential of several selected participants.

Despite his hectic schedule, Professor Geiss and AVIMC have generously decided to conduct exclusive, complimentary lessons for them, aiming to elevate their skills and provide valuable advice and opportunities for their future musical endeavors.

Exciting news for all past participants! These lessons will be open to participation from previous competitions as well. Stay tuned for the exact registration details, which will be communicated via email shortly. Join us in listening to the lessons of Yi-chin Tu, Brittany Deng, and Senza Espressione. This is the chance to take your musical journey to new heights!

Exciting News! 🎻 The strings winner of the 2023 American Virtuoso International Music Competition, the violist Haixiang Ge, has truly wowed our esteemed partner Klanglabor! Following a meticulous evaluation of his exceptional performance, we proudly recommended him to Klanglabor, and they are thrilled to extend an invitation for him to participate in not just one but two incredible projects.

The first project is an extraordinary opportunity to perform in eight concerts at the prestigious Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg this December. As if that’s not amazing enough, the second project, scheduled from the 18th to the 26th of December, offers a full scholarship covering hotel and transportation expenses (KlangLabor). We’re committed to providing opportunities to nurture the talents of rising young musicians like Haixiang Ge.
